Scope

  • Storefront design
  • Catalog architecture
  • PDP build
  • Email capture
  • Reviews and trust

Summary

A new DTC baby clothing brand needed a storefront that mothers would trust on first visit. The build pairs warm, peach toned editorial design with a catalog organized around how parents actually shop: by age, by best seller, by promise.

Challenge

Baby and kids categories are crowded, and parents are extremely sensitive to anything that feels generic or unsafe. A template store would have looked like every Shopify dropshipper. The brand needed to feel like it was made by someone who has actually held a newborn.

Approach

Soft cream backgrounds, hand cropped lifestyle photos, rounded type, and pink and peach accents that lean editorial rather than juvenile. The home page is structured to answer parental anxiety in order: who is it for, what is it made of, who else trusts it, where can I see it on Instagram.

Section by section

How the page is built, block by block.

Every section on this site exists for a reason. Here is what each block is doing, and why it sits where it sits.

01

Hero

Soft, safe and stylish clothing for your little ones

Editorial split hero. A real photo of two babies on the right, a calm pink and lavender CTA pair on the left. The hero deliberately avoids the every product is on sale energy that defines most baby ecom homes.

02

Trust strip

Five tiny icons, five large promises

A row of icons covering free shipping, easy returns, gentle fabrics, parent loved, and sustainably made. Quiet, monoline, and right under the fold so it does the heavy lifting before the buyer scrolls into the catalog.

03

Shop by age

Newborn, baby, kids, big kids

Four round tiles with real photos in each age bucket. This is how parents actually search. Replacing the default category nav with this tile grid lifted product views per session.

04

Cozy sleepwear feature

An editorial product feature

Full bleed lifestyle photo with three sleepwear thumbnails layered on top. A Shop Now button anchors the block. This is the storefront's moment to show range, fabric, and styling in one frame.

05

Best sellers

Four products, social proof first

A clean four product row with star reviews under each name. Best Sellers does double duty as social proof and as a low risk first purchase prompt for new visitors.

06

Why parents love Little Hugs

Four promises, one editorial photo

Soft fabrics, customer testing, hypoallergenic dyes, made for sleep. The block is paired with a black and white photo of a mother holding a baby. The image carries the emotional weight that bullets cannot.

07

Follow the magic

An Instagram band that doubles as social proof

Three Instagram crops with a follow button. Instagram is where most baby brands actually build trust, so a block here keeps repeat visits high without paying for retargeting.

08

Email capture

Join the Little Hugs Club

A peach band offering ten percent off the first order in exchange for an email. Single field form. No coupon popup overlay because this brand does not need to interrupt to convert.

Outcome

What shifted after launch

Patterns observed across analytics, client reporting, and inbound leads after the site went live.

  • Add to cart rate climbed after the Why Parents Love Little Hugs block was added above Best Sellers

  • Email capture conversion lifted with the in scroll Join the Little Hugs Club band

  • Average session pages increased once the Shop By Age tiles replaced a flat product grid
